Sixth Form Scholarships
We are unable to accept any further applications for places for entry in 2008.
The Sixth Form Scholarships are intended to help parents who believe that two years in the Sixth Form of a boarding school are a valuable preparation for university. They also reward ability and ambition. They range in value from 5% to 10% of the fees and can occasionally be supplemented with a bursary worth up to 100% of the fees.
Sixth Form Scholarships are given for:
- academic ability
- musical ability
- outstanding talent in some other area, including sport
Applications for Sixth Form Scholarships for 2009 must be received by 1st January 2009; click here to download the application form.
Candidates are seen at any time in the year before entry and are given a general ability test and an interview in each of their intended Sixth Form subjects.
Overseas students who wish to apply for a scholarship but are unable to attend on the specified dates should discuss the possibility of being examined on an alternative date with the Registrar. There will be an opportunity for Sixth Form applicants from Hong Kong to sit Scholarship and Entrance tests in Hong Kong each October. Further details may be obtained from Mr Tim Hersey.
Applicants for a Music or Outstanding Talent Scholarship will be given a practical test. Applicants for a Music Scholarship must be Grade 8 or equivalent in at least one instrument. Applicants for an Outstanding Talent Scholarship in sport will already be competing for their county or at a higher level.
